Lenten flutes with Turkish delight

Lenten flutes, easy, fast and economical, for a treat, for the liguria at home. So delicious but also to everyone's liking, since they are stuffed with Turkish delight and nuts !! We serve them with a glass of cold water, next to the coffee. It is a purely summer sweet, and the recipe is monastic. We will usually find them during the fasting period of the Virgin Mary. Syrupy, but also plain with icing and cinnamon become amazing!

  • 1 package of Turkish delights in different mouthfuls (500 gr)
  • 150 gr Crystallized sugar
  • Powdered sugar
  • Walnuts - almonds.
  • Cinnamon
  • Sunflower oil
  • 2 k Anthonero

  1. In a saucepan put the sugar with 300gr of water to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, and as soon as the sugar water has cooled, add a little flower water.
  2. Spread the crust sheet on a clean surface. Cut the sheet into strips of about 15 cm.
  3. Place the strips all on top of each other so that they do not dry out.
  4. Spread sunflower oil on the leaf with a brush
  5. We put our Turkish delights at the beginning of the leaf (if the Turkish delight is big, we cut it into smaller pieces and spread it.)
  6. Place pieces of walnut or almond on the Turkish delight.
  7. Close the leaf from the sides on the Turkish delights.
  8. Roll the rest and roll it
  9. At the end of the sheet, wet it with a little water to make it stick.
  10. Place the roll on greaseproof paper in the pan
  11. Repeat the process for all the Turkish delights.
  12. Bake our flutes for 40 minutes at about 170The Celsius until they take on color.
  13. Once they come out of the oven, as they are hot, dip them in the cold syrup.
  14. Sprinkle on top with grated walnut.

If you want, keep some without syrup, and sprinkle them with powdered sugar and cinnamon.

-we can make any taste in shapes. That is, bergamot-shaped cigars, cigar-shaped rose, etc.

-If you want, make mixed flutes for those who do not fast. You can add mizithra, with cinnamon, and instead of sunflower oil, spread melted butter.
