It comes to us from Mexico and is in itself a superfood, healthy where it can be consumed in fasting, by people with a special diet (gluten free).

Avocado is a very tasty fruit that can be used in many dishes, salads, smoothies, drinks, dips, etc.

Rich in antioxidants, in ω3 fats which reduce cholesterol levels and therefore a shield against heart disease.

Rich in B5, B, K, C, E, and of course rich in good protein (2 grams of protein per 100 g of avocado)

Takes care of our skin with vitamins C and E even in reducing wrinkles and repairing hair

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe soft avocados (ready to eat)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1-2 lime juice or 1 lemon juice
  • 1 jalapen or hot pepper melted
  • A little coriander
  • A pinch of cumin
  • 1 tbsp melted garlic
  • Salt Pepper

Directions

  1. Put the avocado in small pieces in a mortar and melt it.
  2. Leave the pestle aside and add our ingredients and stir to homogenize.

Serve immediately.

If the avocado is not ripe you can help it ripen faster if you put it in a paper bag with an apple or a banana.

An avocado tree can not bear fruit unless another one is near it. And avocado fruits grow in pairs.

That is why it is the symbol of fertility for the Aztecs.

In our Crete "xenombatiko" (Cretan word from xenos + baino, the one that came from a foreign place) has been cultivated since the 70's. Since everything flourishes in a blessed place, it succeeded and took root and developed and now with pride we see in all the supermarkets "Cretan avocado"

Can replace butter or mayonnaise for a healthier and more nutritious sandwich

It can accompany and taste with its presence from toasted bread, breadsticks, nachos, dumplings, vegetables to meat or fish and give with its unique special taste, another pleasure.
