An appropriate service is the donation, the offer given by the faithful to perform the sacrament of Holy Communion. It is bread, it is round (in the past, before the Fall, squares were used), which symbolizes the "anarchon" and "infinity" of God. The stamp on it has some symbols. First stands out the cross which each center has 3 equal squares where we see in each square a cross with the letters IS-CHR-NI-KA (Jesus Christ Nika). In the horizontal part of the central cross in one we see a triangle to depict the Virgin Mary with the initials M TH (Mother of God), and on the other the 9 orders of angels in 9 small triangles (3 rows of 3 triangles).
The suitable is fermented from pure wheat of first quality, and no other cereals (corn, rye, etc.). The yeast that we put in the suitable, is made with the basil by the Holy Cross or by sanctification instead of yeast. This is the proof of how wonderful our faith is. The process of kneading the offering is accompanied by the appropriate sanctity and devotion. There is silence in the space and all that is heard is the prayer that is made in parallel with the kneading.
The utensils that will be used (basin, towel, pan) are only for the convenience. We do not use them elsewhere. The water that will be washed in our utensils, we collect them and throw them in soil that will never be trampled. The preparation of the space is necessary for the kneading process to take place. The place should be spotless, we should have lit our candle and incense and candle should be burning on the table.
When the offering is cooked, we wrap it in a clean towel (which is only for the offering) and thus offer it to the priest for the sacrament of Holy Communion.
The priest will cut it into 5 pieces. The central one where it symbolizes the Lamb, is placed in the center on Ag. Tray. The next piece is of the Virgin (left) ie where you place the right side of the lamb on Ag. Chalice. Then the triangles of the orders of the Angels are cut to the right in 9 in total and are placed on the left of the Lamb, on Ag. Tray. The next piece is for remembrance in favor of Health And the last piece in favor of Rest where the priest mentions the names given to him by the faithful by taking out a crumb for each name.
Our materials (for 18 cm baking tray)
- 200 g yeast
- ½ kg salt
- 700 g of wheat flour
- 200 g of lukewarm water
- 1 small piece of clean candle.
- We cross and incense the space and the utensils that we will use
- With the piece of candle we have, melt it and grease our pan
- We knead and at the same time say the words of the prayer
- The dough will come out around the kilo
- When our dough is ready, we divide it into 2 equal parts, making 2 small loaves.
- Then we place the loaves one on top of the other in our waxed pan.
- Lay the surface very well and leave about a quarter (to catch a light crust) and then press the seal very well. (Here we must pay great attention so that the symbols are clearly visible and clear)
- When we press the seal with a stick we make 12 holes (to get air) and let it swell
- When we remove the seal from the suitable one, we clean it thoroughly and place it on a saucer with olive oil for 2-3 hours. Then wipe it and keep it wrapped in kitchen paper. NEVER WASH IT WITH WATER.
- Bake in the air at 150The for half an hour and then at 180The for another about 3 quarters more.

Yeast with basil of the Cross
We take a branch from the church on the day of the Cross (September 14) and put it in lukewarm water in a bowl and cross it reading the prayer of the appropriate
Then remove the sprig of basil and add wheat flour until it becomes a porridge
We leave it until the next day.
When we see that it has swelled again, add a little warm water and a little flour and say the prayer again.
We repeat the same the next day.
On the fourth day we place it in the fridge.
We keep the yeast by pulling a part of it for making bread, suitable, pie etc and filling it with lukewarm water and always wheat flour.
–The same process is done with AGIASMOS
In a bowl, make a cross with the holy water, saying the prayer of the offering, and fill it with lukewarm water and wheat flour until it becomes porridge. The rest of the process is done as with the basil
