Rakomelo is an alcoholic beverage that the combination of honey with tsikoudia and spices is prepared, and has been loved by all of us. We drink it mainly in winter as a hot drink. We can not write an exact recipe for rakomelo because each of us, depending on his taste, puts the amount of honey and spices. Honey is a key ingredient that because it is not accurate in its sweetness you also fluctuate the amount we put in. Because other aromas and sweetness has e.g. the honey of the flowers, the other thyme, pine, chestnut, sunflower, acacia, asparagus, orange heather, etc. In the old days, grandmothers used to give it as a cough medicine as it opens the airways, improves cough and soothes sore throat.


  • 10 shots of tsikoudia
  • 6 kg of honey
  • 1 sprig of cinnamon or a little grated
  • 1 kg cloves (cloves)


Pour the ingredients in the kettle and stir until it gets the first boil.
